male-reprodutivesystemWith all types of diseases or illnesses old and new, the ones that are not talked about a lot are those that are infected specifically based on ones gender or sexual organ. When it comes to diseases of the human species, do men know what are the different diseases or infections they could have? And how will they know if they are infected?

 

For male only this disease mainly involves the male sex organ, the penis. Below are the most common conditions of the penis:

  1. If a man’s penis is painful during an erection and it doesn’t subside after 4 hours, a man could have a condition called “Priapism”.
  2. When the foreskin of the penis feels tight and cannot be pulled back off the head (especially for uncircumcised men) then he might have a “Phimosis”.
  3. If the head of the penis is inflamed or infected the condition is called a “Balanitis”.
  4. If the penis formed a hard lump that causes it to bend or curve, he could have the “Peyronie’s disease”.
  5. If the foreskin of a penis gets stuck behind the head it is called a “Paraphimosis”. With this type of condition, the man should seek immediate medical assistance since this condition can cause more serious complications if not treated immediately.
  6. The most complicated and dangerous condition is the “Penile cancer” it is a rare type of cancer that is diagnosed through the skin cells of the penis.
  7. Cyst in the penis is not uncommon, but when they grow they can cause pain and infection. The cyst is caused by the sebaceous glands, the gland that produces oil on the penis and scrotum, if it becomes enlarge it can cause blockage and turn into cysts.
  8. A penis ulcer can be a single ulcer or a multiple one both of which should be checked and treated by a doctor immediately. An ulcer is identified whenever a crater appears in the skin and a clear liquid or pus is visible. A single ulcer is caused by syphilis and penis cancer while the multiple ulcer is caused by the herpes virus.
  9. A penile papules are a series of small smooth lumps at the head of the penis. Often mistaken as genital warts, a papule is not infectious and doesn’t seek medical attention.
  10. Genital warts. Caused by the human papilloma virus of HPV. It can appear as clusters and are small; it is highly contagious and can spread through skin-to-skin contact. It can be treated by an antiviral ointment or topical liquid nitrogen that should be advised by a specialist. Although these treatments are temporary fixes, to thoroughly treat genital warts an inspection of the inside of the penis is needed.
